About the institute The Government Engineering College Jhalawar has been newly established in the year 2007. It is obligatory to set up and nurture the academic environment in Jhalawar through this Engineering College, now running in its second year, with a pride well supported by Nature in the form of lush greenery, perennial rivers like ‘kalisindh’ and ‘Chandrabhaga’ giving an clarion call to the youths to awaken and step ahead to participate in the area of Engineering and Technology. Although, well known for its rich cultural and literary heritage, geographically situated in the South-East of Rajasthan- surrounded by ‘Mukandra’ and ‘Vindhyachal’ mountain ranges, Jhalawar with a basket full of Natural resources awaits speedy educational, scientific and technological development to compete not only the neighboring districts but rest of the Nation to produce the shining products in the sphere of Human Resource Development. The Government Engineering College Jhalawar is affiliated to the Rajasthan Technical University Kota and the courses are duly approved by AICTE New-Delhi. Professor Upender Pandel, a well experienced faculty of the MNIT Jaipur with vast vision in technical & scientific education, has been appointed as Principal with effect from September 15, 2007. The college aims to sharpen the skills of the students to equip them to face the growing challenge of our dynamic industry. The college seeks to enable graduates to gain a competitive edge in pursuing technical, managerial and professional careers so that they can make an outstanding contribution to the performance of their employing organizations. The college is spread in more than 45 acres (75 bighas).
Faculty Development Programme:- To enhance the technical skills and to motivate towards the concept of learning through sharing, faculty members are sent from time to time to different institutions of high repute like MNIT Jaipur, RTU Kota, Engg. College Bikaner, various NIT’s for attending workshops, seminars, conferences and for training.

Location The institute is based in Jhalawar which is lively & vibrant city, situated in Northern India at a distance of around 330 km south of Jaipur, capital city of Rajasthan & also 85 km from kota,known to be city of education of western india.Jhalawar is a city of vibrant colors; lively folk music and dance performance mark the celebrations of every religious occasion & every change of season.
Government Engineering College temporily located in near I.T.I. campus, RIICO industrial Area, Jhalawar. The Bus stand is approximately 3 km away from the College. Frequent city transport & private transport services are available for the institute from every point of the city.
Road Transport Almost all the towns and most of the important places are well connected with the district headquarter. The Jaipur-Bhopal National Highway(NH-12) also passes through Jhalawar. Air Transport The nearest international airport is at Jaipur (330 kms). Rail Transport The district is connected with rail facilities at three places viz. Bhawani Mandi ,Ramganj Mandi & kota is the main juntion which comes in the way of Delhi-Mumbai broad gauge line of Western Railway. Climate The Climate of Jhalawar remains hot & humid in summer (from April to July), during which desert coolers effectively counteract the heat and make you comfortable. Winters (December to February) have sunny & pleasant days & cold nights. |
